Specimen

Specimen

Within the classification of specimen, you will find all kinds of different stones, geodes, minerals, and other formations of Nature’s Art DecorTM.  Many come from underground, either from the mountainside or the desert, and even the rainforest. There is so much beauty within the earth.

Specimen are dug up differently from all over the world. In fact, the earth’s crust is made of 12% Quartz in all kinds of names and formations. Quartz is a silica and the common names of Quartz-based minerals are Amethyst, Crystal, Citrine, Rose Quartz, Agate, Sodalite, and Carnelian.

There are different formations too – round rocks, boulders, geodes, crystals, and minerals. They are considered semi-precious stones in the field of gems. At Michal & Company, we believe they are the top 7 of 50 stones to get the job done when it comes to energizing your home or business.

Madagascar

From off the eastern coast of Southern Africa, we receive beautiful Labradorite, Carnelian, Smokey Quartz, Orbicular Jasper, Quartz Crystal, Rose Quartz, Northesite (Black Moon Stone), and so much more. In fact, Madagascar is full of minerals that have not even been explored yet in such a small island.

Morocco

Morocco does not only have fossils, but they also have absolutely beautiful minerals like Calcite with Pyrite, Chalcedony geodes, Fluorite, Zanadanite, Amethyst, Agate, and Selenite. There are many that are considered minerals and crystals all in very different areas far apart from each other in Morocco.

Brazil

Brazil is the mecca of South America for rocks, minerals, geodes, and crystals in the mineral specimen. There is Tourmaline in pink, watermelon, and black, Kyanite, Feldspar, Howlite, Citrine, Carnelian, Sodalite, Diopside, Rose Quartz, Agate, Crystal, Aquamarine, Emeralds, Gypsum, and Mica, just to name a few.

Peru

Peru is also mineral-rich with Pyrite, Chrysocolla, Pink and Blue Opal, Manganoan Calcite, and Striped Aragonite.

China

China is another huge mecca for stones. They are known for having the largest stone manufacturing companies in the world after India. China brings in stones from all over the world to carve and create products including countertops, sinks, decorative objects, and jewelry. The Chinese culture, thanks to Feng Shiu, appreciates stones, and they believe in their properties to create wealth and health. The stones they have are so vast from Marble, Quartz Clusters, Pyrite, Smokey Quartz, Fluorite, and many colors of Calcites, as well as Jet and Shugite from their neighboring Mongolia. What you need to watch out for is that China also produces man-made crystals, so beware.

Middle East

Pakistan and Afghanistan mine Lapis Lazuli, salt crystal, pink Onyx, green Onyx, Kunzite, Tourmalines, Aquamarine, Jade, and so much more.

Specimens

Let’s look at different types of specimen minerals from around the world and how you can utilize them to easily create the energy you need in your home or body.

Mica

Mica is one of the minerals that is formed and found in all 3 rock types: igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary. That is because you can find them in Beryl like Black Tourmaline or Aquamarine and in Granite stone mixed in with an amalgamation of many types of stones and in the sand. The names of different types of Mica are Lepidolite, Fuchite, and Muscovite, which all have the same layering formations. Mica comes in green and beige from Brazil, which you can find in clusters and huge blades. Mica from the US are usually much smaller hexagon sparkles.

Lepidolite

This is one of the best minerals in the Mica family for helping people relax and release anxiety and depression. It has natural Lithium, which is synthetically made now, but during the 19th and early 20th century, they would make an elixir of Lepidolite. Now it’s great to put a piece on your nightstand, wear a bracelet on a stressful day, or create your own elixir to help you sleep.

Here is how to make your own Lepidolite Elixir to help you sleep and keep your mood steady:

  • Place a natural, unprocessed Lepidolite chunk into a plain glass bowl.
  • Fill the bowl and mineral full of distilled water and place in the sunlight. Cover with a lid so no dust gets inside.
  • After 3 to 5 minutes, remove the crystal. This will be your concentrated master bottle then place 7 drops of this elixir into a cup of water. You do not need to over-do the elixir. It’s important you feel out if you want more or less, remembering it has natural Lithium.
  • If you want to preserve your master concentrate you can add a couple of drops of brandy (alcohol) but because it’s so easy to make a new batch every week, you can make new and keep it alcohol-free.
  • Do not attempt this with other minerals without research to make sure they are not toxic like Pyrite, Malachite, and Lapis.

Fuschite

Fuchsite is one of my favorites minerals because it helps you bounce back from obstacles. The gourgeous green color captivates you and it is great indoors or outside in the yard. The mineral itself is usually attached to Quartz rock and over time, turned the quartz to Green Quartz, which is also known as Aventurine, just without the pyrite.  Aventurine also promotes wealth. Green Quartz works with your heart Chakra and stimulates clearing, bereavement, sadness, and emotional pain. Together, the combo is a great success for getting over breakups or family issues and moving onwards to a positive being. Like Mica, it is shiny and silky and when you touch it you can feel the tiny lyers like green fairy dust. Using the principles of our signature Energy Positioning Blueprint, I love this stone in the workplace right in the front area as an entrance piece to create the energy of wealth and health. At home, it depends what is happening at the time but the family room is a good location. During times of pain or dificulty, it will provide you with support in the bedroom near your bedside.

Blue Kyanite

Other layering minerals are the beautiful Blue Kyanite with it’s blades sticking out from the Quartz matrix. Many times, you can see Mica attached to it. This mineral is usually found in aluminum-rich metamorphic rocks. It also has the layering structure of Mica but is not in the same family. Kyanite comes in many different colors but the more common colors from Brazil are blue, green, and black. From Africa you can find orange colored Kyanite. I love the energy of blue Kyanite. It gives you tons of energy like a shot of espresso. It’s also known to be one of two stones you don’t need to clear energetically because it doesn’t absorb other people’s energy. Instead it’s a wall of protection like a shield, making it great to put in a high-energy business to help keep staff productive and protected.

Black Tourmaline

Black Tourmaline is my favorite Beryl mineral of them all because it’s abundant and holds the space for you with protection. Black Tourmaline placed in your front door is great to keep the wrong people like energy vampires away. I also place Black Tourmaline between myself and my computer to take out EMF radiation coming from the computer. We have supplied a special kind of Black Tourmaline, which has high amounts of Hematite (Iron) that is red in color attached to mica. It has an amazing sparkle and the combination energetically is amazing for grounding, focus, and protection.

Malachite

Malachite a beautiful, dark green swirly stone coming from the veins between the copper in the Congo. It has such a deep look and feel. The metaphysical meaning of this stone is that it helps you with intentions to create a path for you as you are clearing baggage that no longer serves you. Called the “stone of transformation,” it will help you clear all the Chakras while assisting you in letting go. Mining Malachite is considered a byproduct of copper mining, and many times you can see Turquoise attached to it, which shifts the name to Chrysocolla.

Labradorite

A feldspar mineral, Labradorite is mostly from Madagascar. You can also find it in Canada. What you look for is the face that has a flash of colors. From brown to light blue, red, purple, orange, and sometimes even rainbow pattern. The trick is to cut and polish it correctly so the flash comes out. We only select the extra quality, which I call full-face flash, so we attempt to select ones with limited black feldspar on it. The Labradorite is naturally an army green color and when you slice it thinly, it can be translucent. The energy it promotes is happiness, intuition, and calm. When selecting Labradorite, look for the colors and make sure there’s a lot of flash. Take note to check when selecting Labradorite so that you see which way the light needs to hit the face to flash so you know if your lighting will work in your home or office. For placement of this mineral the best spot is near social areas like in the corridor of an office or meeting room, in meditation or quiet rooms, and any high-stress environment.

Any time you need help creating a perfect energetic environment, Michal & Company is here to serve you.
