Shift into Fall Season Easily with These Powerful Stones

Powerful stones that help you shift into the fall season seamlessly

There are things we all take for granted in life. The blue sky, the sunrise, the sunset, the air we breathe. Football in the fall, baseball in the spring, being tired, eating, drinking, sleeping. Being happy, being sad. Laughing and crying. We as human beings all experience these things and don’t give it a second thought. I have certainly felt these things and more.

Being a healer, I intuitively know what I need to do to take care of myself. Being in the rock business I always have the tools at my fingertips. It’s my livelihood, and even still, it’s one of those things that I take for granted. It sometimes takes my breath away.

So when a friend of mine came to me recently and said she was feeling a little overwhelmed with feelings that she couldn’t identify, I was reminded how lucky I am to have these tools, and how grateful I am to be able to pass them on to my friend.

My friend, like all of us, is busy with her life, her significant other, her family, her kids, and her consulting business. She is generally a centered person, very dependable and reliable, mostly happy, a little stressed, a few childhood scars, but no major mood swings or chronic depressive disorders.

But here’s the thing: she had just finished a pretty intense work assignment, her youngest child had just left for college, her husband was out of town for a month on a job, and it was late in September.

The intense work assignment was a three-month project that involved market research with large focus groups that culminated with a detailed report and presentation to a 12 member executive board. It was the kind of project that was all-encompassing, like being in a “zone” while seeing it all the way through to the end.

The presentation was a huge success, but when it was all over, said and done, she couldn’t remember the process, and since nobody was at home, none of her family, she had no one to celebrate with.

And she started thinking, obsessing, on her last few days, and we know where that usually takes us.

She realized that she spent the last few days of her daughter being at home before leaving for college intensely focused on her project. She could barely remember the last few dinners with her daughter.

She realized that since her husband was out of town on a job, their daughter spent the last few days before leaving for college at home pretty much without either parent.

She was feeling so much sadness and guilt about not being present for her daughter. For putting work before family. We all do it, but sometimes it can’t be helped. But feelings, even though they aren’t facts, are very powerful. And guilt, the most destructive emotion of all, is overpowering, and without tools, it can be debilitating.

But really, and here’s the thing, there‘s also the fact that it was late September. The beginning of fall. Yes, the change in the seasons really can affect your mood. I’m positive that my friend, in addition to maybe feeling a little sad, maybe a little bit empty nest syndrome, was being hit hard with it all because her life situation coincided with the change in the seasons.

Seasonal mood shifts usually include less energy, feeling less social, losing interest in favorite activities, having cravings for carbs and changes in sleep ― either having trouble sleeping or wanting to sleep more than usual. But it can also include feelings of sadness, guilt, self-doubt, and irritation.

Transitioning between the seasons can be hard on some people, especially when you live in an area that experiences extreme weather. Combine that with longer or shorter days, some people struggle with the adjustment period.

If you notice a change in your mood right around the time of change in seasons, you might be experiencing what is called seasonal affective disorder. It’s very common and there are so many different tools you can use to help you refocus and realign your energy, and certain crystals and stones you can use to help along the way.

If however you are down and you find yourself experiencing a continuously low mood or intense depression, please see a doctor or medical professional.

Of course, fall is the time of the year when the temperature gets cooler and the sun sets earlier. It’s the time of year when we see the leaves changing colors and falling from the trees. Famous for the harvest moon, it’s the time of year when crops are harvested for the winter. And it is the time of year when the spirit is more accessible. It is another perfect time to use your crystals and stones to practice letting go, to practice releasing old resentments and old wounds, and start new.

Soon the weather is going to be cooling down, and the leaves will be changing colors and falling from the trees. Even though Summer has come and gone, there is always something magical about the changing of the seasons. It’s a time to renew, refresh and reflect. I, personally, love to surround myself with the best crystals for fall to help me shift into the autumn season.

The 3 Best Crystals for Fall Are:

Amethyst

When the summer is over it’s quite the transition to reset and take on autumn with a positive attitude. Even though pumpkin spiced lattes and bright colored leaves bring a cozy vibe, it’s always sad to say goodbye to another fun-filled summer. During this time of loss and change, Amethyst can help you keep your spirits lifted, and aids you in staying in touch with your inner wisdom. Keep your Amethyst in your bedroom or living space and you will notice the transition flow with ease.

Amethyst is amazing when used in meditation or deep breathing work during this autumn season. It would be great to start to stretch the body and while you’re doing so during the time of release, hold onto your amethyst and let the flow of the divine light come through you. As you use your imagination, be putting in the purple light through your third eye which is the energy zone between your eyebrows and washing the loving purple ray of light throughout your whole body and then releasing.

Also, notice the amethyst might give you ideas, thoughts, and concepts that you can release and/or open up to. Pay attention to what is that comes through you. Amethyst. This is the idea maker. Always have a notepad ready because you might find amazing information coming through once you release while stretching or using the stone.

The concept of Amethyst is that if you let your higher guidance guide you in all times of your life, once cleared of old patterns, during such times when you are feeling down, you can connect and clear faster or with help, but the style of clearing will be faster and with less hurt.

Amethyst is an anger reducer, but there is more to it than that. All anger stems from a fear-based situation that was from the past or past life, so the best is to eliminate the fear. Using Amethyst can help alleviate and release these stresses of anger that can be triggered by family events and the anxiety it creates before the event occurs.

Carnelian

Carnelian is a stone that brings confidence and self-assurance. Its color reminds me of the gorgeous leaves that represent the end of a cycle and the beginning of a new adventure. Autumn in itself is about renewal and change, and Carnelian possesses the same qualities that help make this change easy and fluid. Keep your Carnelian in your pocket or purse so that you can boost your self-esteem as the days begin to shorten.

Carnelian also opens up your emotional blockages… so great to use Carnelian in private settings… it’s the time where you can focus on yourself, and when you’re feeling that you are blocked up or depressed you can use Carnelian, Citrine, and Amethyst together and do deep breathing and releasing what no longer serves you.

It would be great to find a spiritual guide to help you through those times, and sometimes the blockages are harder to move forth and out while you’re in the midst of it, so great to have a best friend, confidant, mentor, whoever it may be that you could open up to very personally. I would stay away from your partner or family members for things like this because you don’t have the freedom to express 100%. Let it go that which no longer serves you

Citrine

As most of you already know, Citrine is a very powerful stone. It’s properties attract wealth and abundance and is often used in the office, safe or cash box. But, not only is it a magnet for prosperity, but it also helps turn negative energy that could be surrounding you into positivity. During the fall and winter months, you may start to feel lethargic and sad due to the lack of sunshine. Seasonal Affective Disorder is common in the Northern parts of the country and my suggestion to help combat depression is to keep a nugget of citrine close to you, especially during the colder months of the year.

Citrine, when placed on your energy zone solar plexus, opens up your center zone to guide you through the rough spots by learning and releasing more about yourself, not only to the world but it can open a higher look to yourself on new beginnings and ends to things that either need to finish or begin.

Citrine is what I call a Pilates stone because it works exactly in the same center zone where you need the strength to move throughout your day. If your core is strong, if your core is centered, you can adjust from the daily stuff as it happens. During the holiday season, it is amazing for helping you shine your beautiful light on others. If you are going to a party get a piece of tumble or pendant and make sure it touches your skin. It doesn’t need to be shown it’s just for your energy This stone will help you stay in the light source and let you shine the best parts of you. If you find yourself more depressed, then put the train around you throughout the home and office. Let it collect the sunlight which can brighten your whole energy zone and keep you going.

I have one other bonus – it’s using the grounding technique. This has been an extreme shift learning about how our bodies shift with the earth by grounding.

Check out a documentary on grounding called The Earthing Movie (Earthingmovie.com) which won the Cannes Film festival for the best documentary.

As we use crystals to connect to a part of the earth’s crust we can also re-explore, going to parks if one lives in an apartment, barefoot or using leather soles. Or take the time to lay down in your garden and hang out with Mother Earth – a fun thing to do with children. Rake those leaves and throw them at each other for fun.

I was so loving this concept because it’s all about using the vital energy of Mother Earth – go bring us what we need for living and exceptional life here and now.

Experience the power of absorbing the earth’s nurturing energy through ‘Ground Therapy’.

Fall brings out many amazing elements from nature, and it’s a special time of year that we all need to appreciate and embrace. So, use your crystals to help you change, just like the leaves on the trees. What’s your favorite crystal for this time of year?
